Welcome to my posterous page. I've joined the many who "stream" or "feed" events in their lives, albeit not to the extreme as some. I hope to update this page with events, using my iPhone, and other tools where possible. Come back soon.

Variations of the Turducken

The largest recorded nested bird roast is 17 birds, attributed to a royal feast in France in the early 19th century (originally called a RĂ´ti Sans Pareil, or "Roast without equal") - a bustard stuffed with a turkey, a goose, a pheasant, a chicken, a duck, a guinea fowl, a teal, a woodcock, a partridge, a plover, a lapwing, a quail, a thrush, a lark, an Ortolan Bunting and a Garden Warbler. The final bird is small enough that it can be stuffed with a single olive; it also suggests that, unlike modern multi-bird roasts, there was no stuffing or other packing placed in between the birds. This dish probably could not be legally recreated in the modern era as many of the listed birds are now protected species. [1] [2].

IBM X-31, I will not let you go

My trusty IBM X-31 has been with me for over four years. I bought it then for $1500 and it has lasted since. Since then, I have replaced the AC adapter (the wire wore off and split open). The battery lasts no more than 15 minutes and should be replaced if I ever want to take this away from the wall plug.

While the new MacBooks look incredibly appealing, I'm still hanging on, hoping that she serves me well for at least one more year. Other than some overheating, especially when watching videos, it still functions.

1200 calories of chicken cutlets and gravy at L&L

Why do I keep doing this to myself. What is worse is that I'm still skinny and not getting fat.

Obama delivers his first "fireside" chat video

Obama uses YouTube, a la FDR's fireside chats. Perhaps using this more modern medium (instead of radio) will inspire the younger population to actively participate in government.
